SU2C
I found this link something about cancer and found out it's all about the September 5th Stand Up 2 Cancer Show. I've heard of this event but never really paid much attention. Since I'm "breaking" I tried to go to the details further since I also have the luxury of time to do so. I found an article of Gina Telaroli's Top 10 Cancer Movies That'll Make You Stand Up (http://www.takepart.com/2008/09/04/top-10-cancer-movies-thatll-make-you-stand-up/).
I was checking out Youtube.com at the same time and found a live performance video JUST STAND UP (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V53NqovXvA), I care to take a glimpse of it since I read Mariah Carey's name. When I saw the video, live during the SU2C Show (Stand Up 2 Cancer Show), I, "Oh!", these two are perfectly related. How nice! I really like the song (JUST STAND UP), the lyrics so enlightening and encouraging specially to those who lost all hopes about living because of cancer. Seeing the spectacular line up of women talent, the marvelous stage, lively band playing, audience cheering and standing up, will surely live out the dying hope in you.
I so like the lyrics so I posted this
Surfing through and through trying to find a video of the show (live), I found this, a highlight from the Stand Up 2 Cancer Show. Since I did not found a video for the live show, I decided to post this one which is trully inspiring also.
Sorry for the vid guys, for better viewing check this one out http://video.aol.com/video-detail/hightlights-from-the-stand-up-to-cancer-show/1235457587
All the videos I watched, articles and posts I read and the song I listened almost brought me to tears. Everybody is doing the greatest thing they can contribute to change the face of cancer forever. That event started the end of cancer.

How cool is that!
if you are one of those who cant get enough of reading, better include 'amazon kindle' in your wish list this christmas. its truly amazing how technology works. now you dont have to look like a nerd carrying all those heavy books around you. you dont have to worry of running out of book shelves' spaces to put your books on and the best thing about this is you can now have your favorite book collection and carry it around you everywhere in a compact. too bad, its not available here in the Philippines. you cant purchase it online as well, since amazon will only ship kindle to US addresses but you can always ask your friends or relatives in the US to purchase it for you. another hurdle though is that, even if you have a kindle here in the Philippines, you cant use the wireless network called 'whispernet' to purchase books from amazon since you're outside the US. but you can always attach it to your computer and download it from there. and by the way it costs $359 but its totally worth it!

A Different Perspective
a new beginning to view the world differently from what the society has forced us to see... maybe that's what this economic crisis is all about. everyone is too preoccupied about the financial situation of the world, too worried about the stock markets, too concerned about the fiscal condition of the business industry. why cant we look at things positively? is it really all about the love for money? has money become the ultimate goal in our lives?in a world we live today, can a person never be happy without money? have we become that cynic, that we no longer believe in the goodness of humanity. have we forgotten the word 'faith' because we're too buzy looking for answers to our problems, problems we created and problems that have solutions if we just have enough faith. sometimes, we're just too preoccupied that we didnt realize that we are ignoring the small details in our everyday lives that maybe the solution to our dilemma. we tend to forget that there's more to life than money, there's more to life than stock markets, there's more to life than the material things we own
if you have the chance to observe the things around you, those 'middle-class whiners' are obsessed by losing a few grand and are driven by insecurity and racked by fear. fear of what? chances are it'll never happen. in five years, most of these people will be in the same house, same car, same relationship and same job. time for an icy-cold can of perspective. have you ever imagine what it would be like for those who live in the streets, for those who wake up every morning not knowing where to get food to feed their family, for those children who can only eat if someone will give them alms. have you ever thought what the economic crisis means to them? exactly! it means nothing! these homeless blokes do not even know what will happen to them tomorrow, every waking hour for them is either a miracle or a nightmare. yet, us who live in comforts, who have shelters, who can eat three meals in a day, are so damn scared of what will happen tomorrow. perhaps this economic meltdown is a spiritual awakening that helps us to be grateful for what we have and not worry about what will probably never happen. perhaps, we need to be reminded what the word 'faith' means. again, maybe this is what the economic crisis is all about.... a new beginning to have a different perspective.

"How dare she!"
I clicked the link so I can read the whole article to find out more about it. I have not watched television for quite sometime because of my hectic sked, so most of my informations are gathered online or from my mom who I considered a showbiz correspondent. She's really into local showbizness!
I found out that it really was just to catch up attention, this time reader's attention. It actually tells the opposite of what I thought it was.

It's never a usual thing for showbiz personalities to do something like this. I know Kris Aquino and her success as an actress and her life behind shootings and tapings, how she failed for countless times in her relationships and how she managed to cope up during those days of depression. But I was never given the chance to know her more as a daughter of one of our ex-presidents. I've seen on television how they grieved upon knowing their mom's-Cory-sickness. And I never thought she is as loving as she really is.
Everybody knows they were mourning about the news, but for her she believes she can do more than just being sad. She always has her ways of expressing what she feels inside, just like before. And I can see Kris will always be that same person she is.
