It was a night of "breaking"... I really need to take a break.
I found this link something about cancer and found out it's all about the September 5th Stand Up 2 Cancer Show. I've heard of this event but never really paid much attention. Since I'm "breaking" I tried to go to the details further since I also have the luxury of time to do so. I found an article of Gina Telaroli's Top 10 Cancer Movies That'll Make You Stand Up (http://www.takepart.com/2008/09/04/top-10-cancer-movies-thatll-make-you-stand-up/).
I was checking out Youtube.com at the same time and found a live performance video JUST STAND UP (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V53NqovXvA), I care to take a glimpse of it since I read Mariah Carey's name. When I saw the video, live during the SU2C Show (Stand Up 2 Cancer Show), I, "Oh!", these two are perfectly related. How nice! I really like the song (JUST STAND UP), the lyrics so enlightening and encouraging specially to those who lost all hopes about living because of cancer. Seeing the spectacular line up of women talent, the marvelous stage, lively band playing, audience cheering and standing up, will surely live out the dying hope in you.
I so like the lyrics so I posted this
Surfing through and through trying to find a video of the show (live), I found this, a highlight from the Stand Up 2 Cancer Show. Since I did not found a video for the live show, I decided to post this one which is trully inspiring also.
Sorry for the vid guys, for better viewing check this one out http://video.aol.com/video-detail/hightlights-from-the-stand-up-to-cancer-show/1235457587
All the videos I watched, articles and posts I read and the song I listened almost brought me to tears. Everybody is doing the greatest thing they can contribute to change the face of cancer forever. That event started the end of cancer.

Adele's Chasing Pavements
An old friend introduced me to this vid. It got some really catchy tune to it and the choreography of the "shadow scenes" is very interesting so I got curious and Wikipedia-ed it. Then I found out that the song and vid came out early this year and earned 2008 MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best Choreography. It's really awesome. But what got me more curious is the fact that the single did not enjoy a respectable amount of airplay in several US radio stations as it got banned due to its perceived meaning of the title "Chasing Pavements." According to Wikipedia, the source of the perceived meaning is said to come from an entry submitted to Urban Dictionary. So, of course I googled it and found this link at Yahoo! Answers. Here is the Urban Dictionary definition:
"Slang term used for the act of specifically searching for a partner with whom to engage in either rimming, frosting or other scat related activities. The term 'pavements' is used as a euphemism for buttocks."
Now, that's crazy. In all fairness to Adele and her song and the video, I firmly believe that it's nowhere near the Urban Dictionary definition. And isn't it why they call it urban as in urban legends because it's not true and proven? Shesshh! Such a shame that such a beautiful song and vid is given little exposure just because of some lame and silly urban myth! Oh, well! It's America after all.

How cool is that!
if you are one of those who cant get enough of reading, better include 'amazon kindle' in your wish list this christmas. its truly amazing how technology works. now you dont have to look like a nerd carrying all those heavy books around you. you dont have to worry of running out of book shelves' spaces to put your books on and the best thing about this is you can now have your favorite book collection and carry it around you everywhere in a compact. too bad, its not available here in the Philippines. you cant purchase it online as well, since amazon will only ship kindle to US addresses but you can always ask your friends or relatives in the US to purchase it for you. another hurdle though is that, even if you have a kindle here in the Philippines, you cant use the wireless network called 'whispernet' to purchase books from amazon since you're outside the US. but you can always attach it to your computer and download it from there. and by the way it costs $359 but its totally worth it!
